April 2006

Just to let everyone know, I'm going on vacation tomarrow, so updates on this site will be on hold until May 18th. See you then.

If you've read my "PVP: At Large" review, then you've noticed the caption at the bottom of the image where Brent and Francis declare their opinion on the second Matrix. I didn't write that; Kevin did. I don't mind since it was funny and probably what I would've written, but in the future, I'll be writing my own captions. Anyway, here's a (I hope) long review of one of my favorite series: Revolutionary Girl Utena.

Today's a big picture update. Pictures for my "Planetes," "Black Cat,"and Jaya's "PVP: At Large" review have been posted. I hope to have a review posted on Friday, and then this site will go on hiatus for two weeks while I am on vacation. However before I leave you today, I want to plug a huge eBay sale I am having right now, that includes several American made anime CD's and DVD's. Brand new, and still factory sealed. You can check out the auction here. I managed to luck out into getting quite a few interesting items like this, so there will be a few sales going on once I get back too. See you all Friday.

Augh! My reviews are so...short! My reviews either need pictures or a lot more thought put into them. (I DO put thought into them now, but there's room for improvement.) I've been thinking for my next review to do a ballad, like "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner." It's food for thought.

Hey everyone, I'm finally back with a new review. My review is for "Planets," the review I almost had finished when I fell into my slump, and reading what I did write gave me the Juice I needed to finish it. That said, since my scanner is still broken there are no pictures for it. Chances are I'll have it fixed on Wensday, and Friday's update will just be one big pic update with pictures for the past few reviews that didn't have pictures.

It's strange how webcomics are printed on paper when they have better archives on the Internet. PVP is a great example of this. Scott, you need to get a new deal with Image. And put the comic strips in order for once! Why am I talking about this? Read today's review.

Kevin's slump is catching. I wrote a mediocre review last week, which was why I didn't post anthing up. Next time I'll let you know when a review's not getting posted on the day it's supposed to be posted. That said, my review for Rose, a prequel to Jeff Smith's brilliant Bone, is up. But take my advice: read Bone before you even think of this one. For those who can, go see Neil Gaiman's Wolves in the Walls. I've heard from his blog that it's a scary, funny, and bizarre puppet show. I'm going when it hits my hometown. This is promotion, but I am a huge Neil Gaiman fan. Unlike Disney today, ALL of his works have a twisted scene or scenes in them. Read one of his books and you'll see. Start with American Gods if you like dark mythology, Anasi Boys if you like comic mythology twists, Coraline if you liked C.S. Lewis's Chronicles of Narnia and Alice in Wonderland, or Neverwhere if you're in the mood for an adventure novel with huge twists.

Hey guys, long time no see. I'm sorry that the site hasn't been updated recently. To be honest, I just haven't been feeling any motivation to write recently. I managed to sqeeze out a review for "Black Cat" today, but I'm not promising anything Friday. I don't know, I'm just in a slump. I hate slumps. There's still some Oscar commentary I want to write on my blog, and not only can I not muster the energy to comment on it, by now it probably doesn't even matter (long story short: I'm really glad "Brokeback Mountain" didn't win Best Picture). Eh, we'll see what comes up. Sorry to those who have sent me e-mails that I haven't responded to. Nothing personal, I just can't get the motivation to respond to them. Oh well, here's the review. Enjoy.
