July 2005

Sorry for not updating Friday, I kind of got busy and forgot to upload my review. For now I'll hold onto Friday's review for Monday, but I just wanted to let everyone know that I've just posted the first two items I brought home with me from San Diego Comic Con. The first item is an autographed picture of Jeff East, who played the young Clark Kent in "Superman: The Movie." Don't worry, the picture is of the young Clark Kent from the movie, so everyone will know who signed it. The second item is a genuin "Penny Arcade" poster, which is signed by Gabe and Tycho. If you're a big fan of "Penny Arcade," then you'll definetly want to try your luck on getting this. This is just the start of me selling all the pieces of my collention (soul?). Plus I'll be selling more manga as the week goes on. Keep an eye on this space for more info. Catch you all Monday.

This is just scary:

Considering how much I love Ginny Weasly, I consider this to be pretty great! Just for the record, this is not a real update. I just couldn't post this in my blog (which is, at least for another week, going to be almost completely devoted to Harry Potter trivia and speculation).

After a couple posative reviews, it is time I get back into my bashing mode with my review for the loud and stupid "Pita-Ten." I haven't finished the next part of my Comic Con report yet, but I'll have it posted on either Wensday or Friday. Also, I wanted to point out that I have been updating my blog more often these days, and commenting on my blog posts is not only easy to do, but I enjoy reading comments. So if you guys can comment on my blog posts that would be great. If I don't see you Wensday then I'll catch you on Friday.

I was planning on having a Comic Con report every update, but writing the darn thing is proving to be a much more difficult task then I anticipated, so I'm only going to promise one or two a week (no big deal, just means the full report will be up withen three weeks then two). Of course, I did get some books from the Comic Con that haven't hit store shelves yet. So, without further ago, read my advance review of "Zatch Bell!" to find out why you need to keep an eye out for this series when it goes on sale in Augest. I've also updated my reviews of "Ai Yori Aoshi" and "Monster Collection" with pictures. See you guys Monday.

My scanner hasn't been working properly these days, which means I'm going to stop delaying uploading my review of "Monster Collection." I'll post the scans as soon as I can, but in the mean time you can at least read the review. However in case you need pictures to help you read things, then the first report I have of the San Diego Comic Con is now up here. Check it out and let me know what you think of it. Part two is coming on Friday (unless I get too lazy to write it of course). Catch you all Friday.

Hey everyone, I'm BAAACCKKKK!!! Did you miss me? As stated in my last update, I have not been updating because I was at the International Comic Con in San Diego last week. I got home a day earlier then expected, and I'm trying to relax at the moment. Of course, I saw so many things at Comic Con, have so many things to write about and post, that it's overwelming to think of how much writing I'll be doing within the next week. I've got some advance reviews to write, I have a full on report of the Comic Con I need to write, I have an interview (or two) to post, and I'm looking at it all wondering how I'm going to fit it all in. Which means next week I'll be returning to three updates a week...at least! I don't have anything to post right now (since I'm too tired to begin writing this stuff), but I will take this moment to make an anouncement. At Comic Con I bought stuff. In fact, I bought a lot of stuff. A LOT of stuff! In fact, I bought too much stuff, and I'm not exactly sure what I was thinking, as I have no idea where I'm going to put this stuff. So since I have some space issue's to deal with now, I will be selling several of the items I came home with. What are these items? Well...tune in later this week to find out. But let's just say this: Stay tuned, as this stuff will make your mouths drool. Oh, and check back later today for a new review. It's nothing about Comic Con, but it's basically finished (save for a final proof reading) and I want to post something today. So check back later for that.

Some of you guys who have chatted with me via e-mail may recall that I wrote a review of CMX's "Swan," which I temperarly shelved because I was being viewed as a shoujo hater, and I wanted to focus on writing a few reviews for some good shoujo series before I posted a bad review. I've been sitting on the review for a few months because after re-reading it a couple times I wasn't very happy with the review, and I didn't feel like it was up to my usual standerds. I have since re-edited the review a few times, and while it may not be one of my masterpieces in writing, it is (in my eyes anyway) a better version of the review (that's not anymore posative), and it is now available to read here. Chances are most of you won't find this review as well written as most of my other reviews, but just keep this in mind: I tore 60% of this review down and rewrote it to what it is now. So if you think this version of the review is a mess, you REALLY don't want to read how the original version of the review was! I should also point out that "Fantastic Four" opened to theaters this weekend to huge box office numbers and poor reviews (which includes two thumbs down by Roger Ebert and Richard Roeper). I have also gotten a few e-mails about "Batman Begins." Aparrently, many of you Batman fans came to my website the Monday after "Batman Begins" opened, and were dismayed to see a review for the 1960's camp film "Batman: The Movie" in its place. Well guys, I have a reason why I haven't posted the review yet, and that reason is that I actually haven't seen the film yet.

I'm waiting to see the film at IMAX, and my theater won't get the movie until this Friday...and I'll be in San Diago. Which means my review of the film will be up in about two and a half weeks. Sorry folks, I know by the time it will be up that movie will feel like old news (how fast we are these days), but that's just the way things are. Maybe I'll get around to seeing the "Fantastic Four" tomarrow, but all these bad reviews means I might just wait for it to come to my beat up little $3 dollar movie theater. Which means should I wait for the bargin price, the review might not be up for three months (ack!). So do I have any movies on the rader for the near future? Well, should everything fall into place, I might have a review of Mark Hamills "Comic Book: The Movie" up shortly after I get back from San Diago. I know, I'm such a disapointment to you guys. *sniff* This is why mom told me to focus on a real carreer. However if it makes you feel better, once I get back, Wensdays will be updated with cool stuff I have about San Diago, which is a lot more exciting then the picture and cover updates. Geez, so much on the radar, makes me tired just thinking about it all. Anyway, check back Wensday for my last new review until I get back from my trip.

Saturday, July 9, 2005 0:25 AM

As I promised yesterday, I have a few things I'm uploading today. First up on the list is my review for Erica Sakurazwa's "Angel Nest." The second item on the list is the second episode of "Covers I Love/Covers I Hate" series. You know, that bi-weekly series I started that is utterly worthless in every possible way. I have also updated my reviews of "Mary Jane," "Othello," and "Nodame Cantabile" with pictures. And with that I will see you Monday for my last update until I get back from San Diago Comic Con. Enjoy.

Hey everyone. I would like to say that I have today's review all ready for everyone, that I'm actually responsable in being able to update my site on time, but not only am I late in updating today I also don't have a review to post. You see, last night was the night I was supposed to be adding the final touches to my review I was going to post today (final spelling check, pictures, etc...), but I ending up reading both a new series and a new comic book movie that demanded reviews, so I wrote them last night before I had the chance to lose my train of thought. When I looked at the clock it was two in the mourning, and I thought to myself "oh man. So much for my update tomarrow." What made me feel even worse was knowing that I forgot to update on Wensday too. So to make up for it come back tomarrow afternoon, and I will have both todays AND Wensdays update posted! Yeah, it's a lot of work to do today, but since I'm leaving for San Diago on Wensday I figured I owed you guys by now. So check back tomarrow for two days worth of content. And in unrelated news, I had a "Family Guy" quiz done to me. You know, one of those quizes where you find out "which character you are" from the show. This is who I am apparently:

Which Family Guy character are you?

Happy Independance Day everyone! I hope you are celebrating this wonderful day with family, friends, and hopefully you are NOT burning the American flag! Me? I am spending this day giving you another review, one that I wish were a little better, but it's been a long way coming so I owe it to the creators to publish it now. Check out what I think of "Deathfist Ninja GKaiser." Yeah, I know, strange name, but so is "Genshiken" if you think about it.

Friday, July 1, 2005 1:21 AM

It's the start of a new month, and with that start I'm giving hard-core CLAMP fans more reason to hate me with my review of "Legal Drug." I have also updated my "Bleach" and "Gals!" reviews with pictures today, seeing as how I've done a poor job of upating on Wensdays recently. Starting next week I will be going back to three updates a week: Two reviews and one misc. item. Just a heads up though, I won't be updating between July 13th-19th because I'll be in San Diago doing...well, do I really need to tell you what I'll be doing?
